‍There has been a great deal of excitement in the migraine community in the past few years about new medications which target something called CGRP. Calcitonin gene-related peptide, or CGRP, is a substance that we all have in our bodies. During a migraine attack, it has been shown that levels of CGRP are elevated, and after a migraine attack ends, the levels of CGRP return to “normal.” This post will help you to better understand the role of CGRP in migraine.
